TaxScout.ai Achieves Authorized IRS e-file Provider Status, Bringing AI-Driven Automation to US CPA Firms

CAMBRIDGE, MA — September 16, 2026 — TaxScout.ai Inc., an innovator in tax practice automation, today announced its official acceptance as an Authorized IRS e-file Provider. This milestone advances the company's plans to integrate its AI-driven tax workflow platform with federal electronic filing systems and address a critical bottleneck for small to mid-sized accounting firms.

For decades, US tax professionals have relied on traditional tax preparation software. Yet document collection and manual data entry remain time-consuming parts of the process. TaxScout.ai modernizes this workflow by leveraging AI to automate document intake and data extraction, with the goal of reducing repetitive administrative work.

TaxScout.ai is advancing its vision of a seamless pipeline from client documents to completed returns, combining AI processing with professional oversight. Planned direct e-filing capabilities remain subject to completion of applicable IRS testing and production requirements.

"Accounting firms need relief from staffing pressures and endless manual data entry," said Madiyar Kumurbekov, Founder and CEO of TaxScout.ai, an Enrolled Agent and an MIT Sloan School of Management alumnus. "Our IRS e-file authorization is an important step toward connecting AI-driven automation with federal electronic filing workflows. Our goal is to give CPAs their time back so they can focus on high-value advisory work instead of typing numbers into legacy software."

The platform is designed to reduce reliance on offshore manual data entry through AI-driven document processing, while keeping tax professionals in control of review and approval.

Authorized IRS e-file Provider status does not constitute IRS endorsement of TaxScout.ai's software, AI technology or services.

What this means for CPA firms

What the status is. To take part in the IRS e-file program, a business applies through IRS e-Services, names its principals and responsible officials, and passes a suitability check. The process is set out in IRS Publication 3112. It's the step that has to come first before a platform can connect its workflow to the IRS Modernized e-File (MeF) system.

What it isn't. It isn't an IRS endorsement of any software or service. It also isn't the last step for direct filing: software that creates and sends MeF returns must pass the IRS Assurance Testing System (ATS) and meet production requirements, as described in Publication 4164.

What stays the same. A licensed professional stays responsible for the return. In TaxScout, every extracted value is shown next to the source document it came from, and nothing moves forward without reviewer approval. Approved return data can be exported to the tax software your firm already uses. See current coverage on the integrations page.

What comes next. We'll publish direct e-filing coverage form by form as each return type completes IRS testing. If you'd like to see how it works at a real firm, apply to our design partner program.
