Realization Rate

Definition

Realization rate measures the percentage of billable time that is actually collected as revenue, calculated by dividing billed revenue by the total value of hours worked at standard rates. A high realization rate indicates efficient billing and collection practices, while a low rate may signal write-downs, scope creep, or pricing issues. Most accounting firms target a realization rate of 85–95%.
