Under BOI reporting rules, a company applicant is the individual who directly files the formation documents for a reporting company, or the person who directs or controls that filing. This person's identifying information must also be reported to FinCEN alongside beneficial owners. The term is specific to Corporate Transparency Act compliance requirements.
